ManMind@Work
Much has been written about the world of work because it plays a central role in our lives and for a long period of time. Yes, there have been changes in social norms and attitudes, the industrial landscape, the switch to automation from manual skills – we’re not here to comment on that stuff.
Work serves a much deeper purpose than just monetary reward. With work comes a sense of purpose, personal identity and status. Of course, we need to make enough money to get by, but then what? Get more money?
For a lot of men, the answer is yes – bigger house, more expensive car, school fees, more possessions, expensive holidays….to pay for a divorce.

The Maze Beckons
The hamster wheel turns, it’s relentless and it can be impossible to get off. Even then, someone might force you off – you get fired, made redundant, find yourself unable to work, you retire. The key questions arise: do we work to live or live to work? How much is enough? Where is the right balance for us as men?
We aren’t supermen or male robots – we’re human beings who seek fulfilment of our psychological hungers, to fill our chosen roles.
Finding a Better Balance
When the world of work takes up too much energy, there’s not enough to go around the rest of the system. It’s a daily experience to feel the difficulty in moving from work to the other roles expected of us at home, socially and in wider society.
ManMind@Work programs are aimed at men in the workplace. We look at impact of work on mental health and burn-out, motivation based on psychological needs not pay, the nature of organisational culture and how to make changes. We visit a range of topics from working more effectively with others and for others, navigating office politics and working with women.
Workshops can be based on one-off topics or pulled together into an impactful program. Healthy men work well.
